SCIP Fees and Expenses

As a STRIVE intern, you will be responsible for a program fee which will cover your room and board during the program (as well as other support provided by STRIVE outlined below). The program fees are:

$295 per week

$595 per week

Your program fee includes your accommodation, 3 meals per day, 24-hour-a-day support both on the ground and in the US (including a designated Intern Group Leader who will work specifically with STRIVE interns), your volunteer placement and support, and access to on-call US based medical staff. If you are planning on running 70+ miles per week, you should understand that you may need to supplement your three meals per day with snacks and other extras to make up for all of those calories you’re burning on a daily basis (see SCIP Meals and Nutrition for more).

The program fee DOES NOT include:

– International airfare
– Domestic transport to Pisaq or Iten (though this can be arranged through STRIVE)
– Other activities/outings*

*These may include the trek to Machu Picchu/Masai Mara Safari and other day trips. Most of the activities that we do with high school students will also be open to our interns and you will pay a reduced price in order to make it more affordable for you.
