SCIP Typical Day

The following schedule is an example of what your average day will look like in country.  Keep in mind that each day will be slightly different and times are approximate.  What is fairly accurate is the amount of time you will be busy each day. Daily schedules are similar in Peru and Kenya.

7:30am:   Meet with group for a morning run or workout session.
8:45-9:45am: Breakfast time and getting ready for school/volunteer work
10:00-12:00pm: Teaching
12:00-1:00pm:  Lunch
1:00-2:00pm: Free Time (possibly a nap!)
2:00-4:00pm:  Tutoring and working on community projects.
4:30-6:00pm:  Afternoon run/workout session
6:00-7:30pm: Free time and dinner with other interns
7:30-9:00pm: Cards/Games/Movies or free time depending on the day

Note: Weekends will look a lot different and depending on your preference will likely be a day trip with the group or a relaxation day for you to regroup and get ready for another busy week.
